Juices with citric acids, such as orange juice and grapefruit juice, caffeinated drinks, and alcohol are things that are better limited. It does not contain any malt. It is used as an ingredient added to food to improve the texture and flavor.

It is also used in many nutritional additions. Often it is free of gluten, but not always. You see, it all depends on which type of starch it comes from. For example, if it comes from corn, potatoes, or rice then it will be gluten-free. If on the other hand it is derived from wheat or rye, then no, it will not be free of gluten. 

Citric acid is often purchased for use in the home for many of the reasons listed above. When stored at room temperature, it will maintain its crystalline form.  You can find citric acid for sale in various other forms as well. Acid type can be made either in the form of water-free (anhydrous) which is crystallized from hot water or can be crystallized with the help of cold water (monohydrate). However, when many people buy the product, it is in the form of crystalline powder.

When making a diet plan to reduce acid reflux, it is more important to concentrate on what not to eat rather than making a list of what you should eat. Food and beverages to avoid include all caffeinated beverages (tea, coffee, and most sodas) any fruits containing citric acid (oranges, grapefruits, lemons, and limes), all spicy foods, chocolate, creamed soups, whole milk, anything fatty or fried (like fast food), and peppermint or spearmint. Eating low-fat, fresh foods without too many spices is the key to planning an effective acid reflux reduction diet.
